JANUARY 2025 BLOG – PLUTO IN AQUARIUS

I’ve written this blog at least a dozen times, but with so many whirlwind changes that keep breaking out in this zany world, it’s hard to know where to start. Since I can’t cover everything, I’ve decided to focus on a single topic: the recent entrance of Pluto into Aquarius and how it will radically change life on Earth. Unless you’re a bad guy. Then Pluto might expose you.

Despite being rudely dismissed by Neil deGrasse Tyson, tiny Pluto is about to shake up the world order. Size doesn’t matter to planets. The tiny ninth planet will spend the next 20 years in Aquarius, kicking ass and revolutionizing planet Earth, a massive change from the past 18 years when Pluto transited serious, conservative Capricorn.

Nothing against Capricorn – all signs have their strengths and weaknesses – but Capricorn the Goat is traditional, old school, authoritarian and resistant to progress, while Aquarius is humanitarian, altruistic, optimistic, intelligent, independent, unconventional, friendly, honest, inventive and progressive.

Pluto is fate. It never wavers, never changes its mind. Pluto can pull the cosmic tablecloth out from under you, alter power dynamics, affect the cycle of death and rebirth. Seriously, don’t mess with Pluto – he’s unstoppable. There are no workarounds for Pluto. Just give in.

Republicans seem to be yearning to regress to medieval times; Pluto in Aquarius won’t tolerate that. As was shouted during the Kamala Harris campaign, “We’re not going back!” And we’re not. The former old guy is going to have a heck of a time trying to implement his draconian policies and demands. He’s already failing in many areas, and he hasn’t been sworn in yet.

Buddhist practice is all about “human revolution” and there’s no better champion of human revolution than Pluto in Aquarius. In Capricorn, Pluto was constrained by the sign’s conventional nature, but in Aquarius, Pluto leaves behind dusty old Capricorn traditions and ushers in new empowerments for humanity.

Pluto rules the underworld. In 1929, as Pluto was about to be discovered, Al Capone was caught and arrested, ending his organized crime empire. We can expect similar exposures with the current crop of gangster – bad guys and criminals of all shapes and sizes, including some in government positions. Clean-up on Aisle 5!

Pluto in Aquarius will shake up the status quo. The last time Pluto was in Aquarius, both the American and French revolutions broke out. Today I think a new revolution is coming – human revolution. Bodhisattvas are here on a mission to save humanity from extinction. The new former/old guy will throw nails into the road, but it won’t stop Pluto from messing up his disastrous agenda. The whole King of the World silliness the former/old guy aspires to will not come to pass. He might have pulled it off when Pluto was in Capricorn, but now that it’s in Aquarius he has little chance for success, and nothing he can do about it. Things will not go well for him. Hopeful news for America.

Human revolution is my life. It’s why I’m here and likely why you are too. It’s a big deal and a huge honor to be here now. We were chosen, maybe a million or billion years ago, perhaps on some other planet or in another dimension. Too far back to remember. But we were chosen to serve, in the distant future, on a great mission. A cosmic adventure. It must have sounded irresistibly thrilling and not just a little dangerous.

Now we’re here, and it’s as exciting as promised, maybe sometimes too exciting.

But I remember why I am here, and all the perks I enjoy that keep me going – so many benefits from my 44-year practice of chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and tackling my human revolution. I’m happy to be in the cast of the most dramatic, crazy, beautiful, astonishing production ever to play in the universe (if there’s somewhere crazier than this planet, please don’t tell me about it).

But here there are saviors, lightworkers, bodhisattvas of all shapes, sizes, nationalities and faiths – people who inspire me and keep me going. Some are in the public eye, many are not. Many famous folks still alive and active, like Barack and Michelle Obama, Rachel Maddow, Oprah, Snoop Dogg, Jane Fonda and my personal savior, Bruce Springsteen, to name but a few, use their fame as a vehicle to promote peace and enlightenment in our troubled world. Fellow Buddhists and bodhisattvas chant and make causes that advance understanding. Many, in various ways, are making a great revolution happen.

Everyone is their own creator. We’re not meant to follow someone else’s program. You are the object d’art. Do you want to know what to do, what path to take, which way to go? Ask the person in the mirror. Things are changing as we speak and will keep accelerating as Pluto disrupts his way through Aquarius. Life is an ongoing prayer, or as Buddhists put it, cause and effect. Make good causes, get good effects. There’s an effect for every cause, and every cause has an effect. All at once, like that everything-everywhere movie.

Pluto in Aquarius will bring power to the people. Let’s pray that it doesn’t involve war, but Pluto will unearth hidden horrors and secrets that could trigger violence. When Pluto was in Capricorn, strongmen and authority figures were glorified, but Aquarius is humanistic, egalitarian. Just after Pluto went into Aquarius, Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad was deposed – the workings of Pluto in Aquarius. There are certain to be more tyrants fired over the next two decades. Those who survive will face formidable challenges in their quest to stay maniacal. The former/future guy would be much more successful than he expects to be, if Pluto was still in authoritarian Capricorn. The Age of Aquarius is not compatible with maniacal would-be dictators. Wrong era.

I’m excited about Pluto’s journey in Aquarius. There will surely be upheavals, hidden secrets that must be exposed, but also unprecedented happenings, like a real, for sure CE3K, aka close encounter of the third kind. When I worked at Columbia Pictures as a reader (the first line of rejection for your screenplay) I read the script of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which both blew my mind and convinced me it was a premonition for some future event. ET intelligence surely chose Spielberg to make the film, which gently introduced the concept of inter-species communication.

My advice is to surrender to Pluto in Aquarius and be open to the new world descending upon us. It will be thrilling, incredible, mind-blowing and scary, but avoid fear – this is all happening to advance our experience of being human and opens many avenues for enlightenment and spiritual progress.

Since we promised to come here for this earthshaking mission so long ago, and we’re now in a climactic moment of the epic mega-production we’ve been recording all this time, accept that we’re on Cosmic Netflix for the universe, and it’s the series finale. Nothing will ever be the same. So go for it. Become mega-enlightened. It’s up to you.

Pluto in Aquarius will surely be out of this world, literally, but we expect no less from the wackiest planet in the universe.
